Is it a bad idea to have a Large Mouse pad underneath my laptop?
I bought a large laptop frys last week, but was huge and my girlfriend had just bought a Standard Size one. I want to return what I thought I just put under my laptop so that the bottom does not get dirty or scratched. My cousin said that this was not a good idea as it would make the laptop overheat faster. It feels a little warm after an hour, but is right? The large mouse pad is made of such material typical mouse pad if it helps.
Your cousin is right – blocking the ventilation holes in the laptop will overheat faster – not destroy quickly, but degrades the life of components. People have to laptops in your lap, you might say, and yes, you can have on your lap, because you will not have enough time there to be a problem, and legs do not cover the same area as the mouse pad.
